Marche of Alderford bids a sad, fond farewell to Lord Charles the Indecisive

He was known by many names: Charles the Indecisive, Constable Barnabas of Fife, and most often, just Charlie. Charles Carlton Dreyer, age 62, passed away on June 21 from cancer, leaving a void in the Marche of Alderford that will be hard to fill.

From Whence Our Name?

Alderford is the name of our shire in Stark, Carroll, and Tuscarawas Counties in northeastern Ohio. The local area is known for its many streams and lowlands. In central Stark County, a tributary of the Tuscarawas River, Nimishillen Creek, has its headwaters in four streams. The name for this creek comes from the language of the original natives of this region. Nimishilla is the name of a shrub that the first European settlers called black alder.

Early History of the Marche of Alderford, by Iustinos Tekton

This History was compiled by Maistor Iustinos Tekton,
founding Seneschal of the group. It's just one person's
version of what happened. Some of this is from the official
Seneschal files, and the rest from memory.
